El Gobierno Petro ha implementado cambios significativos en el programa de Renta Ciudadana desde principios de 2024, con el objetivo de reducir la pobreza en el país. Se ha dirigido principalmente a la población del grupo A del Sistema de Identificación de Potenciales Beneficiarios de Programas Sociales (Sisbén), compuesta por hogares en situación de pobreza extrema.
Actualmente, alrededor de 3 millones de ciudadanos colombianos reciben estas transferencias como parte del programa social, con un enfoque particular en los departamentos de Chocó y La Guajira.
Laura Sarabia, en su posición en la dirección de Prosperidad Social, destacó que este programa marca la primera vez en que se atiende a toda la población en pobreza extrema a través de transferencias monetarias de asistencia.
Con las modificaciones realizadas, los beneficiarios del programa están ahora organizados en cuatro líneas de intervención, de acuerdo con el Sisbén: Valoración de cuidado, Colombia sin hambre, Fortalecimiento de capacidades y Atención de emergencias. Por eso, Prosperidad Social ha pedido a los hogares en diferentes territorios estar atentos a los canales oficiales para poder conocer el avance del pago del subsidio.
De acuerdo con Yohanna Cubillos, directora de transferencias monetarias del Departamento de Prosperidad Social, se espera que los primeros pagos de $500.000 se realicen por tardar en marzo, para hogares de extrema pobreza y que estén en la línea de Valoración de cuidado.

El pasado 8 de marzo del corriente año, Prosperidad Social emitió la resolución 428, la cual formaliza el registro de los hogares seleccionados para acceder a la línea de Valoración del Cuidado. Esta iniciativa otorgará la suma de $500 mil pesos colombianos a los beneficiarios cada 45 días.
La identificación de los potenciales receptores se ha realizado a partir de la información contenida en bases de datos clave, incluyendo el Sisbén IV, el Ministerio de Educación y el Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF), entre otras entidades estatales.
Para determinar si un hogar está incluido en el listado de beneficiarios, se sugiere seguir los siguientes pasos:
