Caficultores eligieron a Germán Bahamón como gerente de la Federación de Cafeteros
Germán Bahamón es el nuevo gerente de la Federación de Cafeteros, según decisión divulgada al término del Congreso Nacional Cafetero, que sesionó de manera extraordinaria este 27 de abril en Bogotá.
Unas horas antes, el presidente Gustavo Petro, tras la crisis ministerial que llevó al cambio de 7 integrantes de su gabinete, incluido el ministro de Hacienda, José Antonio Ocampo, había pedido que aplazaran el congreso, de manera que le dieran tiempo al nuevo ministro, Ricardo Bonilla, de revisar la situación.
En el horizonte había una serie de reclamos por parte de los integrantes de la terna, de la cual hicieron parte, además del elegido, Sandra Morelli, como única cuota femenina, y Santiago Salguero, quien había tenido relación cercana con el gremio que representa a más 550 mil familias cafeteras del país.
En medio de la puja por llegar a la gerencia de la Federación de Cafeteros, que es considerado como uno de los más poderosos del país, se sacaban circunstancias ocurridas en el pasado. Fue así como, a Morelli le recordaron una polémica decisión tomada cuando era directora jurídica de la Federación, en el 2003, “al aprobar la venta de Cafesalud, EPS de la Federación, que fue adquirida por Saludcoop”.
A Bahamón le sacaron a relucir presuntas inhabilidades, dos de las cuales están contempladas en el Estatuto de los caficultores: no pueden haber hecho proselitismo político un año antes y no pueden tener nexos con empresas relacionadas con el negocio. Sobre las dos, el nuevo gerente respondió que no incurría en ninguna.
